Tyler Goins- Trainer & IFBB Pro
My name is Tyler Goins and I own Underdog Coaching with my wife, Heather. My focus is in the personal training aspect of fitness and helping people develop the tools and knowledge to better themselves physically. I'm proud to offer my training and coaching expertise exclusively at Original Workout!
My history in fitness starts back as far as grade school. I began wrestling at 10 years old and continued with it for over 8 years through to the end of high school and after. Once I finished with wrestling, I found myself working out weight training and in my late teens competed in bodybuilding for the first time.
In 2012 I switched gears and started training and competing in powerlifting. Over the course of 10 years in the sport, I competed in 148, 165, 181 and 198 lb weight classes. At one point in my powerlifting career, I was top 10 all time for squat, and currently I am still top 50 all time for squat in two weight classes.
My best lifts in competition were
Squat - 745 lbs
Bench - 425 lbs
Deadlift - 617 lbs
In January 2023, I switched gears and training styles again and began the process of contest prep for bodybuilding. In April, I competed at the Southern Tournament of Champions and won in middleweight bodybuilding and the overall in bodybuilding as well as class A classic physique and the overall for that division also.
Two weeks later I competed in bodybuilding at the Charlotte Cup and placed 2nd in middleweight.
I competed a month later at Jr USAs in both bodybuilding as well as classic physique. I placed first in middleweight bodybuilding and second in classic physique where I was awarded my IFBB Pro card.
Through the course of the last several months, I have found my passion in not only training myself but also in helping other people to level up their training to reach their goals. I use mind-muscle connection, progressive overload and concepts of FST7 training styles to create training that focuses on muscle growth and intensity.
I look forward to helping others reach their goals whether just developing a new training style to feel better and grow, or in preparation for elite training, powerlifting or bodybuilding.
