Ryan Gant, NASM Certified Personal Trainer

I have been at Original Workout for 2 years now, and honestly, its been the best 2 years of my life. I started training part time; training anywhere from 1-5 clients at a time. One day I took a leap of faith, and quit my run of the mill corporate gig. I sat down with Rob, the owner and told him I was doing it. I wanted to pursue a dream in helping people for a living. Since that day over a year ago, I have hit the ground running, growing a clientele base from 1-5 clients to 30+ clients. I have had the privilege of coaching some AMAZING people. All walks of life have walked through the gym doors; each person with different goals than the other. It has taught me to be very versatile when it comes to my training practices. Whether it be gaining muscle mass, weight lose, or training for athletic performance, and everything in between, I’ve done it. Versatility is necessary to survive in this business.
Today, nearly 70% of my client inquiries has had, or has, some sort of ailment holding them back from optimum performance. It could be a bad shoulder, ACL reconstruction, spinal arthritis; the list can go on. This has led me to the path of advancing my certification in Corrective Exercise. My goal is to one day bridge the gap between physical therapy and personal training here locally. However, lets back up for a second so I can give you a little bit of back ground on myself...
I can type out a novel going into my past on what has led me to this point in my career, but I don't think you want to read that. Some key events that happened were, being a part of a 2012 College World Series baseball team; I graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University in 2015, with a Bachelors in Exercise Science; I obtained my National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Personal Training Certification; I became a Master Scuba Diver; and now, I am currently obtaining an advanced certification in Corrective Exercise, and Scuba Diving Instructing.

I love to train young athletes aspiring to take their game to the next level. It reminds me of the hunger I once had as a young athlete. So, if you have a youngster that could benefit, bring them on as well. With that said, I bring a kid like mentality to our training sessions. I try my best to keep things light and fun for all of my clients…. while inflicting pain…not really.. but, we’re going to work hard. Mark my words. I would be more than willing to go into more detail on any of this during our consultation. Oh, and I am a huge Carolina Panthers fan. So there's that. |
I am excited that Rob has allowed me to stay around for as long as I have. I love every single one of my clients for putting their trust in me. By allowing me to be YOUR trainer, you will receive nothing but full DEDICATION to not only pursue your fitness goals, but EXCEED them.
I am excited to be part of the Original Workout team. Take this journey with me to better your health and fitness. Choose Ryan on our FREE session form or email Ryan today at ryangant07@gmail.com

"Shout out to Ryan Gant at Original Workout! I was always lanky. I think I weighed 120 when I graduated from high school. I tried working out all through the years but found it hard to stay motivated. I settled in around 150 or so. I’ve been working with Ryan for about a year. At first I ate like crazy and gained 20 or so lbs. Then I started going more Keto and cut out most carbs. I weighed in today at 157. I think I’m addicted now and can’t see myself stopping. Finding the right trainer is key to making it work for you. Ryan knows how to push, how to motivate, and when (on rare occasions) to show mercy! I know there are all kinds of body shapes and different goals. Ryan has definitely helped me reach toward mine." - Steve Clark

"So I decided to take the steps needed to live a healthier life and get in shape. I have struggled with motivation, knowledge, and support when I attempted this before. I did some research online and found Original Workout here in Hickory. Ryan Gant reached out to me after I sent in an inquiry online. Let me say, I thought I had watched videos and thought I knew what I was doing. Man was I ever wrong. One assessment later and I am sore from what at the time seemed like a simple workout. I learned I definitely did not have the proper form or knowledge. I would workout for over an hour and hardly feel the burn. I worked out with Ryan for only 30 minutes and feel the burn and pain from the workout. Granted it is a good pain from knowing I actually worked my muscles how they are designed to be used. I had a second session today and felt the burn during the session. So far no pain. Ryan taught me the importance of proper stretching today. So hopefully no pain right. Well as the saying goes... No Pain No Gain! So if you are just beginning the process of getting healthy, take my advise, don’t go at it alone. Get a professional and if you are here in the Hickory area.... go to Original Workout. I’m sure everyone there is awesome but I can say my personal favorite is Ryan! The cost of a personal trainer is NOT an expense... it’s an investment in your body! Live, Laugh, Love, and Get Fit!" - Ausitn Lee
